Wellness session at staff retreat

Wellness session at staff retreat

Our team is a highly functioning, very dedicated team and we have a lot of demands. When there's a lot of change, stress levels go up.  The value of your session was creating awareness around how thoughts can impact the body and behavior. The imagined yoga mat exercise and playing with our inner narrative was powerful; it highlighted the human tendency towards fear and negativity, how the body feels stress, and how to shift into a positive, calm mindset where the body can relax. Your second visual of the conscious/subconscious mind and that 90% of our thoughts originate from the subconscious, points to the body being a more accurate indicator of what’s really going on inside our heads. These visuals were impactful. We can’t control a lot of things, but self-care and self-awareness is within our control. You gave us concrete ways to think about all of this.

Off-site workshops and online meditations

Off-site workshops and online meditations

It comes as a surprise to many that veterinary professionals have a significantly higher rate of depression and suicide than the general U.S. population.  In an effort to support our staff and promote self-care and well-being, we enlisted Molly to conduct several off-site seminars to introduce the practice of mindfulness and meditation. Molly presented practical skills and stress reduction tools, and our staff described her workshops as “rejuvenating”, “balancing” and “life-changing”.

Meditation and Stress-Reduction Lunch * Learn

There’s a lot of pressure inherent in our job that we rarely speak about. Our company is changing people’s lives through our medical breakthroughs, and the weight of that responsibility is running in the background of our minds all the time. We all need to be aware of the pressure we put on ourselves and our tendencies to drive ourselves in unhealthy ways. Your session was illuminating and a much-needed reminder.
